This is the first of a two-DVD set covering most of the Iwama Aiki Ken and Aiki Jo curriculum expertly demonstrated by Morihiro Saito, 9th dan.
These Ken and Jo forms were compiled and refined by Saito Sensei based on his weapons training directly under Aikido Founder Morihei Ueshiba.
These DVD's present the most detailed instruction available on aikido weapons and clearly depict each sword and staff movement in an easily-understood manner.
This Aiki Ken DVD tape covers: 7 Ken Suburi, Ki Musubi no Tachi, 5 Kumitachi and Henka no Tachi.
Complete English overdub of Japanese explanations.
In addition, two rare bonus films have been included on this DVD.
The first item is a film documentary on Saito Sensei producted in 1974 by Dynna Taylor on the occasion of his first overseas tour to California.
He was 46 years old then and in his prime.
Saito Sensei made a lasting impression for his technical and teaching skills and was invited back many times to the USA.
The second bonus program presents in its entirety the sword demonstration of Saito Sensei from the 1989 All-Japan Aikido Demonstration held at the Nippon Budokan in Tokyo.
